This dialog will stay on the screen for 15 seconds, unless dismissed by clicking on the OK button. The dialog cannot be dismissed until it has been visible for 3 seconds. In addition, the Title Bar will contain a note that this is an unregistered version of INIMAINT. To obtain your registration identifier please send a check for $29.95 per license for single licenses or $299 for an unlimited copies license made payable to Carry Associates to the address above. Once you have your registration identifier, you can register your copy of INIMAINT by selecting the Register Your Copy entry on the Actions Menu. Help for Size ═══ Select Size to display the number of bytes of disk storage that would be required to hold all or part of the current INI file. The user will be presented with a Size Selection Dialog that will allow the selection of what to Size. The selection Dialog will always contain two entries, one for the entire file and another for the currently selected Application. If there are any Groups defined for the current INI file, then the Groups will also be listed. If there are more than on Group defined for the current INI file, then an All Groups selection will be displayed. Once the selection is made, the Size calculation will commence. Help for Update Selection ═══ Select Update Current Key to write any changes made to the selected key value to the current INI file. Until this option is selected or a new Key or Application is selected and the user chooses to allow an update, the changes made to the Key Value in the bottom window will not be reflected in the current INI file. Help for Cursor movement keys ═══ Use these keys to move the cursor in the editing area. Key: Function: Up Moves the cursor up one line. Down Moves the cursor down one line. Right Moves the cursor right one character. Left Moves the cursor left one character. Ctrl+Right Moves the cursor to the beginning of the next word. Ctrl+Left Moves the cursor to the beginning of the previous word. Home Moves the cursor to the beginning of the current line. End Moves the cursor to the end of the current line. Ctrl+Home Moves the cursor to the beginning of the first line in the file. Ctrl+End Moves the cursor to the end of the last line in the file. Page Up Scrolls the text up one window. Page Down Scrolls the text down one window. ═══ 75. Help for Editing keys ═══ Use these keys to edit the text in the file. Key: Function: Enter Splits the current line by inserting one EOL character at the cursor position. Tab Inserts a Tab character at the cursor position. Insert Switches between insert and overtype mode. In insert mode, new text is inserted at the cursor position, moving the existing text to the right. In overtype mode, the new text replaces the existing text. Delete If text is selected, the selected text is deleted. If no text is selected, the character to the right of the cursor is deleted, and any remaining characters to the right of the cursor are shifted left. If the cursor is at the end of the line, the EOL character is deleted and the line is joined with the next line. Backspace If text is selected, the selected text is deleted. If no text is selected, the character to the left of the cursor is deleted, and any remaining characters to the right of the cursor are shifted left. If the cursor is at the beginning of the line, the EOL character on the previous line is deleted, and the current line is joined with the previous one. Ctrl+Delete Deletes all characters from the cursor to the end of the current line. If the cursor is at the end of the line, the EOL character is deleted and the line is joined with the next line. Shift+Del Cuts the selected text out of the file and saves it in the Clipboard. Ctrl+Ins Copies the selected from the file and saves it in the Clipboard. Shift+Ins Pastes the text in the Clipboard into the file at the cursor position. If text is selected, the Clipboard text will replace the selected text. If no text is selected, the Clipboard text is inserted at the cursor position. Alt+Backspace Undoes the last change made ═══ 76. Help for Text selection keys ═══ Use these keys to select text and extend existing selected areas of text. CAUTION: If an area of text is selected, pressing any character key, the Backspace key, or the Delete key deletes the selected text from the file. Key: Function: Shift+arrow Selects text or extends a selection in the direction of the arrow. Shift+Home Selects text or extends a selection to the beginning of the current line. Shift+End Selects text or extends a selection to the end of the current line. Shift+Ctrl+Right Selects text or extends a selection to the beginning of the next word. Shift+Ctrl+Left Selects text or extends a selection to the beginning of the previous word. Shift+Ctrl+Home Selects text or extends a selection to the beginning of the file. Shift+Ctrl+End Selects text or extends a selection to the end of the file. ═══ 77. Help for Selecting text ═══ Selecting text means to highlight it. You can select text using the mouse, the keyboard, or both. Select Select all on the Edit pull-down to select all of the text in the file. CAUTION: If an area of text is selected, pressing any character key, the Backspace key, or the Delete key deletes the selected text from the file. Using only the mouse To select text: 1. Click and hold the mouse button at the beginning of the area you want to select. 2. Move the mouse to highlight the area to be selected. 3. Release the mouse button. To select a word: 1. Move the pointer to the word you want to select. 2. Double click the mouse button. Note: This method will also select blank space in a line. Using both the mouse and the keyboard 1. Click the mouse button at the beginning of the area you want to select. 2. Hold the Shift key down. 3. Click the mouse button at the end of the area you want to select. Note: Double clicking at this point will include the word under the pointer in the selection. Using only the keyboard Use the text selection keys to select text or extend an existing selection using only the keyboard. Extending a selection 1. Hold the Shift key down. 2. Click the mouse button at the end of the area you want to select. Note: Double clicking at this point will include the word under the pointer in the selection. ═══ 78. Help for Action bar keys ═══ Use these keys to select the System icon and action bar items. Key: Function: F10 Switches between the action bar and the editing area. Shift+Esc Switches between the System icon and the editing area. Right Highlights the next action bar item or the System icon. Left Highlights the previous action bar item or the System icon. Enter Accesses the pull-down of the highlighted action bar item or System icon. Mnemonic The mnemonic key is the key corresponding with the underlined letter in the action bar items. Help for Clipboard ═══ The Clipboard holds the text that you Cut or Copy. The Clipboard can only hold one block of text at a time. Help for EOL character ═══ The End of line (EOL) character is an invisible character that is located at the end of every line of text when Word wrap is turned off. You can join or split lines by deleting or inserting an EOL character. When Word wrap is on, every line may not end with an EOL character. Be sure it is turned off before attempting to spit or join a line. To split a line: Mouse users 1. Click the mouse button to move the cursor to the location where you want the line split. 2. Press the Enter key to insert an EOL character. Keyboard users 1. Use the cursor keys to move the cursor to the location where you want the line split. 2. Press the Enter key to insert an EOL character. To join two lines: Mouse users 1. With the pointer past the end of the line, click the mouse button to move the cursor to the end of the line. 2. Press the Delete key to delete the EOL character. Keyboard users 1. Press the End key to move the cursor to the end of the line. 2. Press the Delete key to delete the EOL character. ═══ 85. Help for Tab character ═══ A tab character is a single character that appears on the screen to be as many as eight blank spaces. Tab stops are invisible, stationary points on the screen that are located every eight character spaces. A tab may be inserted and deleted like any other character. When the Tab key is pressed to insert a tab character in the text, enough blank space is inserted to reach from the cursor location to the next tab stop. Any characters to the right of the cursor are shifted to the right. If a tab character is deleted, the text to the right of it will shift to the left. As text is inserted or deleted to the left of a tab character, the size of the tab character is automatically reduced or increased so that characters to the right of the tab do not move. This characteristic helps you keep columns of text aligned. ═══ 86. Help for Undo ═══ Select Undo on the Edit pull-down, or press Alt+Backspace to cancel the last action you performed that changed the edit window. The text of the Undo pull-down item will change according to the last action you performed. ═══ 87. Help for Copy ═══ Select Copy on the Edit pull-down, or press Ctrl+Insert to copy selected text to the Clipboard. You can insert the text you copy somewhere else in this file or in another file using Paste. ═══ 88. Help for Paste ═══ Select Paste on the Edit pull-down, or press Shift+Insert to insert the text on the Clipboard into the file at the cursor position. If text is selected, the text from the Clipboard will replace the selected text. Note: Use Cut or Copy to put text on the Clipboard. ═══ 89. Help for Word wrap ═══ Select Word wrap on the Options pull-down to reflow the text in the editing area so that any text not visible past the sides of the window is wrapped to the next line. This is helpful for reading text without having to scroll horizontally. When Word wrap is on, the cursor will automatically advance to the next line as you type so that all text remains visible. The check mark on the pull-down indicates that Word wrap is on. When Word wrap is on, every line may not end with an EOL character. Word wrap only determines the way text appears on the screen. Turn it off to see how the file will be stored or printed. ═══ 90. Help for Cut ═══ Select Cut on the Edit pull-down, or press Shift+Delete to delete selected text from the file and copy it to the Clipboard. You can insert the text you cut somewhere else in this file or in another file using Paste. ═══ 91. Help for Find ═══ Select Find on the Edit pull-down to find or change text in the file. When you choose this command, the Find dialog appears. Use it to enter the text you want to find or change. ═══ 92. Help for Case sensitive ═══ Select this to switch Case sensitive on and off. Case Sensitive is on when the box is checked. If Case sensitive is on, the Find text must match uppercase and lowercase letters exactly as they appear in the file for the text to be found. Help for Change All ═══ Select the Change All pushbutton to change all occurrences of the Find text to the Change to text.
